Celsa Turns 1 and Bonjour, Francia!

Ah--It's been a while since I've updated the blog! There has been some major events happening here in Spain!  First, Celsa had a birthday!  She has officially turned one years old and she is getting bigger everyday!  We had a little birthday party for her that included some sandwiches, party hats, a cake, and a few presents.  And the most recent event is that Celsa has started walking solo!! She has officially made a few passes across the house with no help at all!  It is so amazing to witness her growth and see how far she's come since I got here.  She couldn't even crawl when I first arrived and now she is walking on two feet!  Unbelievable :)

This past weekend I visited Bordeaux, France with my friend Jacklyn!  We spent three days roaming around the famous wine city eating as many crepes and pastries as we could.  We also decided to spend a Saturday taking a wine tour where we visited two wine Chateaux's.  We learned about how the wines are made, aged, bottled, and of course...how they tasted :)

During our wine tour, we met two super sweet girls from the US that were studying abroad in France.  We got a long right from the start and decided to get a French dinner with them that night.  Since Jacklyn and I don't speak a WORD of French, it was so nice to have some people there to translate the menus for us!  We had goat cheese, duck, and a delicious chocolate cake for dessert.  After that we went to a few french bars and had a lot of fun with french people who were trying to speak English with us!  So fun :)

By the third day, Jacklyn and I were pretty ready to go but mostly because stores and restaurants are all closed on Sunday and our hostel had literally NOTHING to do.  We didn't have a computer and the hostel didn't have a functioning television.  However, we made the best of it by shopping at the places that were open/touring the Christmas market, and enjoying a few walks by the river.

Overall, it was a fun trip with some memorable and hilarious experiences!
